There are many small dog breeds out there that can be categorized as having “underbites”. While there is no officially recognized list of the breeds that fall into this category, I have created a list of the most common ones for you below.
Boston Terrier
As with all purebred dogs, Boston Terriers has to undergo vigorous obedience training, in particular when they are puppies, because of their tendency to be “pushy” and stubborn. These traits make them excellent companions and good watchdogs.

French Bulldog

English Bulldog

Lhasa Apso
The Lhasa Apso isn’t your typical non-sporting dog breed, originating from Tibet. Instead, it was bred as a silent sentinal in the Buddhist monasties, to warn the monks of any intruders who were entering.
While the Lhasa Apso was bred primarily as a guardian dog, many owners have taken this dog into their family because of the loving and protective nature of the dog. When brought to America the dog quickly became popular for tracking activities and was then introduced to people in Tibet where it began to receive recognition as a sporting dog.
Today the Lhasa Apso receives regular exercise and is happy to spend the day playing with any member of the family. The Lhasa Apso shows great strength, and agility in both jumping and running, as well as for tracking and any other activity where it is needed. The Lhasa Apso can also be a good watchdog, although it does not do very well when left alone.
Shih Tzu
The Shih Tzu has long been a popular pet among families. Originating from China, the Shih Tzu dog is said to have first been bred in China.
